Costa Rica
Discovering Central America
The tropic climate in Costa Rica is a decisive factor for a rich variety of plants and animals.
As a whole several thousand different species can be found in the rain forest of Costa Rica.
What I love about traveling to Costa Rica is being so close to nature and therefore exploring
the places you visit and take your photos.
Basically it's the complete opposite of going to the zoo. You have to be aware of your environment and carefully analyze
the behavior and reaction of animals in order to take great photos.
British Columbia
Princess Royal Island
Princess Royal Island is on of the largest island on the Pacific Coast of British Colmbia
Orcas, wales and salmon can be found around the islands as well as bears, deer and bald eagle in the Great Bear Rainforest.
As part of a preservationist project and since it's only reachable by boat or plane Princess Royal Island is a place
of 100% untouched pure nature.
Even though orcas, bears or bald eagles didn't appear that often to me the rare moments of spotting one of those animals
were unique in any case and definitely memorable.
Utah
Fly fishing in local waters
The state of Utah is situated in the Western United States and is a geographically diverse area.
Utah is well known for its characteristic variety of terrain ranging from pine forests to desserts and rivers in mountain valleys.
Further more Utah features excellent fly fishing opportunities which I was luckily able to test.
Beautiful river banks are welcoming to taking some photos while resting from fishing.
Salt Lake City provided me the opportunity of taking some great photos of fireworks on a local holiday.
Hamburg City
My home port where it all started
The Hanseatic city of Hamburg features beautiful insights into the art and character of German architecture.
In the rather new district "Hafencity" hotels shops and residential areas where built upon the old harbourquarters.
I really enjoyed taking my first shots as a professional photographer in this area since it's so multifaceted.
During the day the place is fulfilled and crowded by people who are mostly tourists but by night the few people you meet
are other photographers who try to capture the interaction of straight lines, beautiful lights and maritime atmosphere.
Obertauern
Winterly alpine scenery
The City of "Obertauern" which is located in the Salzburger Land in Austria is a famous tourist destination for winter sports.
It is situated between 1,600 and 2,500 meters above sea level and features a lovely alpine scenery in wintertime.
While enjoying vacation and snowboarding it's rather difficult to get insights into the fewer visited spots in this alpine region.
Walking offside the ski trails with my camera gear for some exhausting hours was rewarded with a couple of beautiful photos of snow-covered
mountain and forest scenery.
